Rules & Regulations
How Will You Conquer Bland? That is the question. Mix it up, get creative, and share your secret
to creating the most unique meal at HuHot.
The contest is simple. Consumers will develop and share their own personal HuHot stir-fry recipes by
filling out recipe form online at conquerbland.com. The recipes will then be judged and winners will be
selected. There will be (1) winner from each HuHot location then they will be entered into a bracket-style
contest to determine five rounds of winners. The last three rounds and the final overall winner will be
decided by votes on conquerbland.com.
Recipes will be judged on the following criteria: originality of recipe, variety and taste appeal of chosen
ingredients and final cooked meal, includes between four and seven ladles of sauce, creativity of recipe
name, and ability of recipe to be made in all U.S. HuHot Mongolian Grill® restaurants.
NO PURCHASE OR ONLINE ENTRY NECESSARY TO ENTER OR WIN:
No purchase or payment of any kind is necessary to enter or win this contest.
ELIGIBILITY:
You must be 18 years or older to submit your recipe or obtain consent from a parent or legal guardian in
order to be eligible. Must be a legal resident of the fifty (50) United States or the District of Columbia.
Employees, family members, officers and directors of HuHot Mongolian Grills, LLC ®, subsidiaries,
franchisees or affiliates and the advertising or promotion agencies of each are not eligible to enter or win
this Contest. Void in Puerto Rico, U.S. Territories and where prohibited by law.
TO ENTER:
The contest begins on February 12, 2018 and ends on February 25, 2018. To be considered for judging,
visit www.conquerbland.com, to choose ingredients and then finalize your entry form with 1) the
Entrant’s recipe name, 2) recipe ingredients, 3) recipe spice rating (called “flame rating”), 4) instructions
for preparing the recipe (called “secret weapon”), 5) beverage pairing, 6) HuHot restaurant location, 7)
Entrant’s name, and 8) Entrant’s email address. Limit one (1) entry per person and one (1) Entrant name
per entry.
When submitting a recipe online, first choose your ingredients, and then click the “Submit Your Recipe”
button. You will then have a chance to review your recipe. Click “Submit Your Recipe” again to be taken
to the submission form. Complete the form and click “Enter Contest.” There will be a “Thank You”
that confirms a recipe entry has been received and submitted into a review process. The entrant will also
receive a confirmation email acknowledging receipt of the recipe entry.
In lieu of an online submission, a recipe entry may be sent via snail mail. Mail the recipe submission to
HuHot Mongolian Grills, LLC at 223 E. Main St., Missoula, MT, 59802.
Online entries must be submitted by 11:59 PM on February 25, 2018. All mail-in entries must be
submitted by close of business on February 26, 2018.
All entries submitted become the property of Sponsor [HuHot]. Entries will not be acknowledged or
returned. Multiple entries from the same Entrant and/or duplicate entries will be void. Sponsor is not
responsible for entries that are lost, late, incomplete, altered, damaged, destroyed, ineligible, illegible, or
misdirected. By entering the Contest, Entrants and Entrant’s Parent/Guardian agree to be bound by the
Official Rules. A digital copy of this document is available for review or download at
www.conquerbland.com.
By entering this contest, the Entrant consents to the use of his/her recipe; the Entrant agrees to have
his/her name, photograph, and/or likeness used by HuHot Mongolian Grills, LLC in any and all media
throughout the world in perpetuity without restrictions as to frequency and duration of usage. HuHot
Mongolian Grills, LLC or its successor and assignees shall be the absolute owner of the recipe and any
and all broadcast or printed communication, website content, point-of-sale and other materials (and all
rights therein, including copyright) produced by this submission. HuHot or its successor and assignees
may use the Entrant’s recipe, name, photograph and/or likeness in any manner and with whatever copy it
chooses, and may alter the above in such a manner they deem necessary. The Entrant is confirming there
is no conflict of advertising or promotional commitments that would cause the submitter to be unable to
enter into and duly perform the services, and grants the rights by this agreement that is binding to any and
all heirs and next of kin, and personal representatives.
GUIDELINES:
Recipes are being judged on the following criteria:
§ Must use approved HuHot ingredients so it can be made in all U.S. HuHot Mongolian Grill
restaurants.
§ At least 4 ladles of sauce and no more than 7 ladles of sauce
§ Creative recipe name that is appropriate and not offensive or derogatory
§ Has variety and an appealing flavor
§ Overall uniqueness and originality
All entries must be the original work of the Entrant. Any entries judged not to be original will be
disqualified. Contest Judges’ decisions will be final.
Employees and families of employees of HuHot Mongolian Grills, LLC, are not eligible to enter or win.
PRIZE POSSIBILITIES:
Local Store Winners
There will be a winner from each HuHot location. Judging will occur between February 26, 2018 and
February 27, 2018. All overall store winners will be announced on February 28, 2018.
The prize, once accepted, will be a $25 HuHot reward added to the winner’s HuHot Rewards account. If
the winner doesn’t have a HuHot Rewards account, a $25 electronic comp card will be emailed to the
winner.
Bracket-Style Winners
Each Local Store Winner will be randomly matched up with another Local Store Winner in six rounds.
• The first round will determine 32 winners. Those winners will receive a Coca-Cola® customizable
Share-A-Coke bottle.
• The second round will determine 16 winners. Those winners will receive a $50 HuHot reward or
electronic comp card.
• The third round will determine eight winners. Those winners will receive a Kikkoman® prize
package and their own recipe card.
• The fourth round will determine four winners. Those winners will receive “free HuHot for a year”
(one free grill meal every week for 52 weeks).
• The fifth round will determine two winners. Those winners will receive a HuHot Delux Swag Bag.
• The final round will determine the final overall winner. That winner will receive $1000 check
made out and mailed to the Entrant.
WINNER SELECTION/JUDGING CRITERIA:
The owner of each individual restaurant or impartial HuHot Mongolian Grills corporate employees will
award the Local Store Winners. Recipes will be judged on the following equally weighted criteria:
originality of recipe, variety and taste appeal of chosen ingredients and final cooked meal, includes
between four and seven ladles of sauce, creativity of recipe name, and ability of recipe to be made in all
U.S. HuHot Mongolian Grill restaurants. The Local Store Winners judging will occur between February
26, 2018 and February 27, 2018.
The first and second rounds will be judged by impartial HuHot Mongolian Grills corporate employees.
The third through final rounds will be voted on by visitors to www.conquerbland.com. One vote per
person per round will be allowed.
The decisions of the Contest Judges will be final and binding. Not every entry will win.
Winner from each location will be announced on February 28th
Round 1 winners (32 total) will be announced on March 1st
Round 2 winners (16 total) will be announced on March 2nd
Round 3 winners (8 total) will be announced March 9th
Round 4 winners (4 total) will be announced on March 16th
Round 5 winners (2 total) will be announced on March 23rd
Final winner will be announced on March 30th
WINNER NOTIFICATION/RELEASES:
Local Store Winners and all Bracket-Style Winners will be notified via email address provided in the
recipe entry by the Entrant on or before the above dates. The entrant must acknowledge winning so that
the prize can be awarded to them. The entrant will have 3 days to accept prize after the email was sent. If
the prize is not accepted within 3 days, the prize may be forfeited.
Prizes will be awarded to the Entrant, who will be required to complete and sign the prize announcement
form confirming acceptance of the prize. Failure to timely return such documents may result in Entrant
forfeiting any prize they may have been eligible to receive. Any prize or prize notification returned as
undeliverable or refused will result in disqualification of Entrant; HuHot may name an alternate winner.
By accepting a prize, the Entrant consents (where legal) to the use of the Entrant’s name, likeness,
photograph, biographical information and statements by Entrant, subsidiaries, franchisees or affiliates for
purposes of advertising, promotion and publicity without notice or compensation.
ODDS OF WINNING:
Odds of winning depend upon the number of entries received.
GENERAL:
Sponsor reserves the right to cancel this Contest without notice for any reason at its sole discretion.
Acceptance of an offered prize by a Winner constitutes permission to use any of such person’s name,
likeness, and biographical information for advertising and publicity, without compensation, unless
prohibited by law.
DISCLAIMERS:
Under no circumstances, including negligence, shall the Sponsor be liable for any direct, indirect,
incidental, special or consequential damages that result from the act of submitting an entry, or inability to
do so, including due to any and all technical malfunctions for any reason whatsoever, or otherwise
participating in any aspect of this Contest or out of any breach of any warranty. The Winner shall bear all
risk of loss or damage to his/her prize after it has been delivered. The Sponsor makes no representation or
warranties of any kind concerning the appearance, safety or performance of any prize. This exclusion or
limitation of liability will not apply to the extent that any applicable statute prohibits such exclusion or
limitation of liability.
